If anyone reading this has yet to see Brokeback Mountain, I highly recommend you go see it as soon as possible. It's wonderful. No, it's not all hearts and flowers and shoujo bubbles like most a lot of boy/boy fanfiction; it's more the way I'd assume a 'real' relationship goes, with its ups and downs (a lot of downs!).
No spoilers, folks, but I will say this: I sobbed like a litttle bitch the last twenty or so minutes of the movie. And it wasn't over anyone dying per se.
That's the only microspoiler you get. Go see Brokeback.
Just a small update for today, folks.
The fourth part of my Thief/Jyonouchi series Seasons of Love is now up on the fiction page ("I Believe"). Also, there is a page featuring past layouts to the Asylum. These cannot be altered or used elsewhere since they're only image files, but I may be willing to help anyone out with their own web site if asked. However, I will have to come up with fees for such as I don't have thousands of hours of spare time on my hands if requests do come.

All the unworking links have now been fixed, so every story should come up when you're browsing the fiction section of the Asylum. Also, "What You Own" has gone live. I might go back and seperate it into seperate sections since it is over 10,000 words in length, but for now everything is indeed up and running finally!
Okay, I'm at work and just now discovered a slight problem with the site; all the links in the YGO section are coming up file not found. This is because I forgot to fix the links to take out a subfile that I opted against using. To access those stories until I get home to fix the problem (I don't have access to my editing software on campus), type "http://www.asylum.darkmagick.net/" then the filename that comes up when you scroll over the link without "/ygo/" included in the address. I'll fix this when I return home this evening, but the earliest it will be dealt with will be after 6 p.m. EST.
Also, I will be uploading my story "What You Own" to the site as well. The GWYaoi thing is straightened out; unsurprisingly I didn't place, but I'm still pissed over one of the stories that did. The new layout is now live; the link to the story that's at GWYaoi goes nowhere until they get everything straightened out there.
There's still no update on the GWYaoi situation, which is really annoying. I polished off what little needed to be reformatted for the Asylum's new layout this morning (including a few slight changes to the .css files) and now it's just a waiting game. I suppose I could go ahead and upload the changes without the link to my entry working, but that would be a waste of the time I've already put into this project. It's taken me nearly two weeks to get everything changed over and rework the fiction page (if you've visited the site lately, you know there's a good deal that I haven't added there but still a hell of a lot that needed reworked and updated!) and I don't see any need to rework it again because a few people can't get the neccesary information to the contest moderators. Then again, were it my contest I would have created a backup disk or an online file to keep the information until it was needed again, but that's just my opinion.
Anyway, as soon as I hear anything, I'll make another update here. Of course, if the results come in you'll know because the Asylum will be all shiny and new again.
As you can probably already tell from this blog, changes are on the horizon for the Asylum. Here's a quick breakdown of what's to come:
I'm still toying with the layout itself; I like the header style I have set but it may not work on all computers, so I'm still working on that. Plus, I have to wait to upload the changes since one of the stories to appear on the fanfic page is my entry to the GWYaoi 2005 Novella contest in the wildcard category and they haven't gotten everything quite smoothed out there just yet. It's slightly annoying as I was planning on putting up the new layout for the Asylum's second anniversary online, which is this coming Friday (1/6).
Anyway, that's it for now. The artwork for this layout is from the doujinshi CROSSOVER by Azure*Gong, and the artwork for the upcoming Asylum layout is from the doujinshi PINPRICK by Soyogo Iwaki for the circle Hobby Hobby. All coloring and layout design was done in Photoshop by yours truly (and it was a bit of a pain, but well worth it!)
I'm slowly switching this baby over to a babble blog. Meaning, I may still include website updates but more likely I will be writing out stream on consciousness randomness that may be more than some people can handle. Approach with the utmost caution!
